The Sewer Modernization & Revitalized Treatment (SMART) project provides new influent facilities to the Montgomery County Western Regional WWTP. In addition to expansion and revitalization of an offsite pump station, the project includes a complete new pretreatment facility. The improvements to the hydraulic profile will be accompanied by new screens and grit removal systems that will provide primary treatment of the raw influent before the flow enters the existing aeration tanks.
